Thomas J. Gallo III is Parting Glass Racing's founder and managing owner. A native New Yorker, Tom grew up in the shadow of Belmont Park and pursued a career in the thoroughbred business while working the farms and sales of central Kentucky. Tom learned the ropes of the racing industry at the knees of Lee Eaton and Leslie Combs, two of the most progressive and innovative men in the history of thoroughbred breeding and racing.  Working in sales prep at Eaton Farm and Combs' Spendthrift Farm, Tom learned early on that service is all important to maintaining client satisfaction. Hand-in-hand with his wife, Mia, Tom built a bloodstock business in upstate New York and owns the Thomas J. Gallo III Sales Agency, LLC based at his Blue Stone Farm in Cambridge, NY.

Tom brings the wisdom of all those years of success in the bloodstock business into the foundation of the Parting Glass Racing horse racing partnerships. "Knowing my clients and creating a program to fit their budget and expectations," Tom explains, "is the key to a successful endeavor - it must work - it must click - or it's just another business with bills piling up."

In addition to his management of Parting Glass Racing, Tom sells about 100 yearlings, weanlings, and broodmares annually at auctions in New York, Maryland, and Kentucky, and owns about 10 mares in partnership at his 80-acre Blue Stone Farm.

Tom is on the board of directors for the New York Thoroughbred Breeders and provides horse management services for clients, performs appraisals, and provides expert witness services. Tom is involved in promoting safe and healthy thoroughbred racehorse retirement. Tom is also on the board of directors for Gilda's Club, a non-profit organization offering services to those affected by cancer. He has 4 grown children and resides with his wife near Saratoga Springs, NY.

Joan Desadora, founding member of Parting Glass Racing, is an avid horse owner, racing enthusiast, and lover of Thoroughbred horses.

Joan is a successful small business owner living and working in Saratoga, New York, just 5 miles from the renowned Saratoga Racetrack. Joan established her pub, The Parting Glass, in 1981, catering to the racetrack crowd and getting to know the Thoroughbred racing community through her pub customers. Named after an old Irish song called "The Parting Glass", her pub quickly became a Saratoga landmark. USA Today voted the pub one of the top ten Irish pubs in the United Sates. Family-owned and operated, The Parting Glass has become the social gathering place in spring and summer for all racetrack notables and staff. With its cozy atmosphere and sense of community typical of an authentic Irish pub, The Parting Glass can boast a "who's who" of racetrack personalities throughout the racing season and throughout the year.

Joan made her first horse purchase in 1998, owning and racing Run Man Run. The horse was a Grade 1 Stakes winner who won the Grade 1 Malibu just six months after her purchase. The excitement of owning a racehorse and that initial win stayed with her, inspiring her to help establish Parting Glass Racing. Because she originally found it difficult to become a horse owner, Joan has a special appreciation for those new to thoroughbred racing partnerships. She didn't know how to get involved in ownership without being a millionaire. Now a seasoned horse owner, Joan's advice to anyone interested in considering partnerships in thoroughbred horse racing is to do it now instead of later.

Allen Porter is Parting Glass Racing's pedigree advisor. Allen has been professionally involved with Thoroughbreds for almost 30 years, has been a writer on racing and breeding for more than 25 years, and has been planning matings for 18 years. Alan brings an impeccable reputation and unbiased eye to our operation, giving our horse racing partnerships an added value that sweetens an already sweet proposition.

After several years working on a stallion farm in England, Porter turned to journalism, joining Stud & Stable magazine which later became Pacemaker, a journal on which Porter worked as Deputy Editor. Porter then served an eight year term as advisor for Mr. & Mrs. Bertram R. Firestone's Catoctin Farm and Gilltown Studs before becoming a freelance pedigree advisor and journalist.

Porter has written columns for The Daily Racing Form, The Thoroughbred Daily News, Pacemaker, The Australian Bloodhorse Review and Owner, Breeder International, as well as contributing to numerous other publications in Europe, Japan, and North America. Porter has also authored three books on racing and of Greatness II, The Americans (co-written with Ann Peters) and is now publisher of Owner-Breeder International. A speaker at numerous seminars and conferences around the world, Porter has also provided pedigree commentary on camera for New York's Fox Sports network and for New York Times Television.

Porter has been involved in planning breedings which have resulted in more than 80 stakes winners, including Eclipse Award winners, Japanese Champions, Champions in Europe and in Australia.
